आज सवेरे,सवेरे,अख़बार मे
 शोक समाचार के कालम मे,
अपनी फ़ोटो को देखँ हैरान था,
आश्चर्य,,क्या मैं मर गया हू,?
या किसी मसखरे का शिकार हो गया हू,

रुको,,थोड़ा सोचता हू,
पिछली रात ही तो
 मेरे सीने में भारी दर्द उठा था,
और मैं पसीने से तरबतर हो गया था
 फिर मुझे कुछ याद नही,
मैं शायद गहरी नींद में सो गया था,

और अब सुबह के ८ बज चुके है,
बिना काफ़ी मेरी आँख नहीं खुलती,
आज आफ़िस में फिर लेट होने वाला हू,
चिढचिढे बास का फिर भाषण सुनने वाला हू

 पर ये क्या? क्यूँ मेरे घर मे भीड़ हो रही है,
सारी भीड़ क्यूँ रो रही है,
यहाँ बरामदे मे क्यूँ हाहाकार मचा पड़ा है 
 मेरा शरीर सफ़ेद कपड़ों में लिपटा,ज़मीन पर क्यूँ पड़ा है

 मैं यहाँ हूँ, मैं चिल्लाता हू,
कोई इधर देखो,सुनो, मैं यहाँ हू
 न कोई ध्यान देता है ,न कोई सुन पाता है,
हर कोई कातर नज़र से बस मेरे शरीर को निहारता है,

मैं अपने कमरे में वापस आ जाता हू,
बाहर कोहराम मचा है,
ये,क्या मेरी बीबी रो रही है,
बहुत दुखी और उजडी सी दिख रही है
 मेरे बेटे को शायद नही कुछ एहसास है,
वह केवल इसलिये रो रहा है कि,
क्यूँकि उसकी माँ बदहवास है,
लगता है मैं मर गया हू,

मैं कैसे मर सकता हू,अपने बेटे से कहे बेगैर,
कि मैं उसे सच बहुत प्यार करता हू,
मैं उसका बेहद ख़्याल रखता हू,
मैं कैसे मर सकता हू अपनी बीबी से कहे बग़ैर,
कि वह दूनिया की सबसे ख़ूबसूरत 
 और ख़्याल रखने वाली बीबी है
 कैसे मर सकता हू माँ ,बाप से कहे बग़ैर,
कि वे है तो ही ,मैं हू,
कैसे मर सकता हू अपने दोस्तों से कहे बग़ैर कि,
वे मेरे जीवन के सारे ग़लत फ़ैसलों पर भी वे मेरे साथ थे,
पर मैं ही अधिकान्शत: मैं वहाँ स्वयं नहीं पहुँच पाया था ,
जब उन्हें मेरी सबसे ज़्यादा ज़रूरत का वास्ता था
 और वे ज़्यादा ज़रूरतमन्द थे

 मैं एक बन्दे को देख रहा हू,
जो कोने में खड़ा आँसू छिपाने की कोशिश कर रहा है,
कभी हम अतिप्रिय अभिन्न मित्र थे,
छोटी सी ग़लतफ़हमी ने हमें जुदा कर दिया,
उन दिनों हम ईगो की पराकाष्ठा में थे,
हमने कभी एकदुसरे को माफ़ नहीं किया

 मैं उसके पास जाता हू
 अपने दोनो हाथों को आगे बढ़ाता हू
 दोस्त मैं अपनी ग़लतियों के लिये क्षमा माँगता हू
 हम आज भी अच्छे दोस्त है,
मुझे माफँ कर दो,
ये क्या उसके तरफ़ से कोई रिसपान्स ही नहीं मिलता,
क्या वह आज भी उसी ईगो में है,
मैं जबकि माफ़ी माँग रहा हू, 
फिर भी,उसका मिज़ाज नहीं मिलता
 पर वह निरन्तर रोता जा रहा है,
पर एक सेकेण्ड।
 शायद वह मुझे और मेरे हाथ को नहीं देख पा रहा है,
तो क्या मैं सच में मर गया हू?

ज़मीन पर लेटे मैं अपने शरीर के पास बैठँ जाता हू,
क्या करूँ कैसे करु किसे पुकारू कुछ समझ नहीं पाता हू
 दिल करता है कि मैं फूट,फूट के रोऊँ।
 एकदम से हुई इस अनहोनी पर कहा अपना सिर धुनु और फोड़ू,,

हे भगवान ,मुझे कुछ समय और दो,
मैं अपने बेटे,बीबी,माँ बाप दोस्तों को
 बताना चाहता हू कि मैं उनसे कितना प्यार करता हू

 मेरी बीबी कमरे में आती है,
तुम बहुत सुन्दर हो मैं प्यार से बार,बार दोहराता हू
 वह मेरे शब्दों को नहीं सुन पाती है
 सच ये है कि जीवन मे उसने ये शब्द 
 मेरे मुँह से कभी सुनें ही नही,
हा,मैंने कभी कहा भी तो नही,

हे भगवान 
 मुझे थोड़े दिन और दे केवल एक बार
 क्यूँकि,,,

मैं अपने बेटे को अपने सीने से लगाना चाहता हू
 अपनी माँ को मुस्कुराते देखना चाहता हू,
अपने पिता को अपने ऊपर गर्व करवाना चाहता हू,
केवल एक बार बस एक बार अपने दोस्तों को साँरी कहना चाहता हू,
मैं तो उन्हें कभी समय नहीं दे पाया, पर आज भी वे मेरे साथ है,
इसका धन्यवाद देना चाहता हू,

मैंने ऊपर देखा
 मैं चिल्लाया 
 भगवान ,,
केवल एक मौक़ा और,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

तुम सपने में चिल्ला रहे हो,
उठो,क्या तुमने कोई बुरा सपना देखा,
मेरी बीबी ने मुझे थपथपाया,
मेरा बेटा मेरी बग़ल में था,
मेरी बीबी वही थी,वह मुझे सुन सकती थी मैंने लम्बी साँस ली ,
उसे गले लगायाऔर कहा,
तुम मेरा ख़याल रखने वाली,दुनिया की सबसे हसीन बीबी हो,
मैं सच तुमसे बहुत प्यार करता हू
 उसकी आँखों की नमी और चेहरे पे आई प्यारी मुस्कान 
 इस मोहक मुस्कान को मैं ही समझ सकता था,
भगवान ,,इस दुसरे मौक़े के लिये धन्यवाद ,
मैंने मन ही मन दोहराया।


मित्रों!अभी भी देर नहीं हुई है। अपने झूठे ईगो,अतीत के पुराने विवाद और मतभेदों को भुलाकर अपने प्रियजनों और मित्रों से खुलकर अपने प्यार को जतायें और झगड़े और मनमुटाव को भुलाकर नईं शुरुवात करें क्योंकि ज़िन्दगी में दूसरा अवसर नहीं मिलता है।
खुश रहें और सभी को भी खुश रखें।

सामग्री - एक लीटर छाछ
बाजरा कूटा हुआ - 100 ग्राम ,
कोरी हांडी - 1,
नाल्डी/ चाटू /टोकसी- 1,
घोटणी - 1,
लूण आवश्यकता अनुसार..
विधि :---
सर्व प्रथम
कोरी हांडी लीजिये,
हांडी ले कर अपने गाँव में
घर घर डोलिए,
जिस किसी के घर छाछ
बनी हो, 1 लीटर
छाछ मांग कर लाइए,
अब घर आ कर 100
ग्राम बाजरा लेकर
ऊखली में मूसल
की सहायता से मोटी-
मोटी कूटिए..
हांडी को चूल्हे पर
चढ़ा दीजिये व
कूटा हुआ बाजरा छाछ में
डाल दीजिये..
धीमा धीमा बास्ते जगाते
रहिये और घोटणी से
कूटा बाजरा मिश्रित छाछ
को हिलाते रहिये..
लूण अपने स्वादानुसार
साथ में ही डाल
सकते हैं, ध्यान रहे बास्ते जोरगी मत जगाइए
इससे राबड़ी के हांडी में लागने
की गुन्जाईस रहती है...
जब छाछ उफान लेने लग
जाए तो 2-3
उफान दिराकर
हांडी को उतार कर
अराही पर रख दीजिये.
नाल्डी की सहायता से
गर्मागर्म
राबड़ी अपने
मेहमानों को घाल दीजिये
और आप भी थाली ले कर
राबड़ी सबड़किये .....
हो सके तो फटाफट
राबड़ी को सलटा दीजिये..
बच जावे तो सुबह सुबह कलेवे में
खा लिजिये !
नोट : बच्चो को गर्म
हांडी से दूर रखिये
उन्हें प्यार से समझा कर
दूर कीजिये,

Why is the media here so negative?

Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements?

We are such a Great NATION.

We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why?

We are the first in milk production.

We are number one in Remote sensing satellites.

We are the second largest producer of wheat.

We are the second largest producer of rice.

Look at Dr. Sudarshan , he has transferred the tribal village into a self-sustaining, self-driving unit..

There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed in the bad news and failures and disasters.

I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert into an orchid and a granary. It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the newspaper, buried among other news.
In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime.
Why are we so NEGATIVE?

Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things?

We want foreign T.Vs,
We want foreign shirts.
We want foreign technology. Why this obsession with everything imported.

Do we not realize that self-respect comes with self-reliance?

I was in Hyderabad giving this lecture, when a 14 year old girl asked me for my autograph. I asked her what her goal in life is..
She replied: I want to live in a developed India.

For her, you and I will have to build this developed India.

You must proclaim.
India is not an under-developed nation;
it is a highly developed nation...

YOU say that our government is inefficient.

YOU say that our laws are too old.

YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage.

YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke. The airline is the worst in the world, mails never reach their destination.

YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits.

YOU say, say and say..

What do YOU do about it?

Take a person on his way to Singapore.
Give him a name - 'YOURS'. Give him a face - 'YOURS'. YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best.

In Singapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in the stores.

YOU are as proud of their Underground links as they are.. You pay $5 (approx. Rs.. 60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim Causeway or Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM.

YOU come back to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you have over stayed in a restaurant or a shopping mall irrespective of your status identity…
In Singapore you don't say anything, DO YOU?

YOU wouldn't dare to eat in public during Ramadan, in Dubai ..

YOU would not dare to go out without your head covered in Jeddah.

YOU would not dare to buy an employee of the telephone exchange in London at 10 pounds (Rs..650) a month to, 'see to it that my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else.

YOU would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 km/h) in Washington and then tell the traffic cop, 'Jaanta hai main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?). I am so and so's son. Take your two bucks and get lost.'

YOU wouldn't chuck an empty coconut shell anywhere other than the garbage pail on the beaches in Australia and New Zealand ..

Why don't YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo?

Why don't YOU use examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston ???
We are still talking of the same YOU.

YOU who can respect and conform to a foreign system in other countries but cannot in your own.

YOU who will throw papers and cigarettes on the road the moment you touch Indian ground.

If you can be an involved and appreciative citizen in an alien country,
Why cannot you be the same here in India ?

In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job. Same in Japan ..

Will the Indian citizen do that here?

We go to the polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all responsibility.

We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the government to do everything for us whilst our contribution is totally negative.

We expect the government to clean up but we are not going to stop chucking garbage all over the place nor are we going to stop to pick a up a stray piece of paper and throw it in the bin.

We expect the railways to provide clean bathrooms but we are not going to learn the proper use of bathrooms.

We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food and toiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least opportunity.This applies even to the staff who is known not to pass on the service to the public.

When it comes to burning social issues like those related to women, dowry, girl child! and others what do we do?
We make loud drawing room protestations and continue to do the reverse at home.
      OUR EXCUSE?
'It's the whole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone forego my sons' rights to a dowry.'

So who's going to change the system?
What does a system consist of?
Very conveniently for us it consists of our neighbours, other households, other cities, other communities and the government.
But definitely not ME & YOU.

When it comes to us actually making a positive contribution to the system we lock ourselves along with our families into a safe cocoon and look into the distance at countries far away and wait for a Mr.CLEAN to come along & work miracles for us with a majestic sweep of his hand or we leave the country and run away like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in their glory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure we run to England. When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight out to the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued and brought home by the Indian government.

Everybody is out to abuse and rape the country.

Nobody thinks of feeding the system.

Our conscience is mortgaged to money.

IAF Veteran Biren Yadav Wrote this on his Timeline :-

Yesterday I was in Hindon Air Force base for the funeral of 5 Brave Air Warriors of 77 Squadron who were involved in the recent air crash. Amongst them was our dear late Wg Cdr P Joshi (Late Wg Cdr Prashant Joshi was Son of Veteran Gp Capt Ashok  Joshi and Son-in-law of Veteran Wg Cdr SU "Suzy" Apte both ace Fighter pilots now settled at pune. late WgCdr Joshi leaves behind his wife Sqn Ldr (retd) Anita Joshi and two small children of age 8 and 2. late Wg Cdr Joshi was cleared for Promotion to next Rank as Gp Capt and was slated to take over as CO of No 77 Sqn equipped with Hercules Super 130J ) It was a very sad moment. The Station arranged their farewell with honour and dignity they truly deserved. The loss of so many from a squadron is unthinkable. The Squadron officers proudly saluted their comrades knowing very well they have lost the best.

What hurt most was that not ONE representative of the Min of Defence was present nor any had the decency to drive down to Hindon to pay the Brave their last respect. Not one from the politician class could find time for the same. Only Gen VK Singh was there. This can happen only in our country. This hurts a lot especially to veterans like us. Only soldiers, no matter what color,country or language they speak, understand the final respect a comrade deserves.
I cry when I think about those uniformed men and women and the lives they have affected by their ultimate sacrifice. May they all rest in peace with other comrades in arm




Conversely, in Pittsburgh, PA the body of one Air Force capt who died in accident was brought.  His route to the Funeral Home was announced with timings on all TV stations.

I was astonished and moved to see all residents of Alleghany County were up at 8 AM lined up on the described route, when the temp was -20 degrees and it was snowing heavily.  It was a moving scene to see two years olds, 80 years old and pregnant women lined up to pay their respect to the departed soldier.  America is great for they respect their soldiers and Veterans.
Have the will to pass it on.





No one has been able to explain to me why young men &  women serve in the Military for 20 years or more, risking their lives protecting your freedom, &.....only get 50% of their pay.....on retirement.

While Politicians hold their political positions in the safe confines of the capital,
protected by these same men &  women,
and receive Full-Pay retirement after serving one (1) term.
It just does not make any sense.
.



If each person who receives this will forward it on to 20 people,

in three days, most people will have the message.

This is one proposal that really should be passed around.

मिले थे। फिर हमने एक Cyber Cafe में पहली मुलाकात थी।

तुम्हारी मम्मी का Software देखकर मेरा Hardware खड़ा हो गया।

फिर हम एक कमरे में घुस गए क्योंकि हमारा CPU गर्म हो गया था।

तुम्हारी मम्मी मेरे Pen Drive से Download करवाने

को राज़ी हो गई। लेकिन जैसे ही मैं Upload करने लगा, मुझे अहसास

हुआ कि हम लोगों ने न तो Anti-Virus का इस्तेमाल किया है और न

ही Firewall का। अब तो इतनी देर हो चुकी थी कि Delete

या Escape Button का इस्तेमाल करना भी मुमकिन नहीं था।

छः हफ़्तों बाद तुम्हारी मम्मी ने मुझे Internet पर Chat करके

बताया कि उसका Operating System किसी Self-Extracting

File के चलते Unauthorized Program Activity दिखा रहा था,

जिससे उसका System Slow हो गया था। वह Self-Extracting

File तुम्हारी मम्मी के BIOS में Load थी।

नौ महीने बाद एक Pop-Up दिखाई दिया, जिसमें लिखा था, You've

राजपूतो में "खम्माघणी" शब्द
का प्रचलन क्षात्र - धर्मं के खिलाफ
है , अतः इसकी जगह अपने इष्ट
का नाम ( जैसे- जय एकलिंग जी , जय
चारभुजा जी, जय श्री कृष्णा ,,)
लेकर अभिवादन करे ..
आज हमारे समाज में खम्माघणी नाम
का शब्द बहुत ही ज्यादा प्रचलन में है
और काफी तेजी से उन जगहो में
भी प्रचलित होता जा रहा है
जहां पर कुछ समय पहले इसके बारे में
किसी ने सुना भी नहीं होगा , इसके
अलावा इस शब्द को प्रचारित करने
में धारावाहिको और
फिल्मो का भी बहुत बङा हाथ
रहा है , तो आईये जानते हैं
"खम्माघणी" शब्द का इतिहास
और ...इसकी उत्पति के बारे में ।
हमने जब इस शब्द के बारे में गहराई से
जांच पङताल कि तो... हमें
पता चला कि इस शब्द का प्रयोग
डुमो और ढोलियो के द्वारा राजपुत
सिरदारो को अभिवादन करने के
लिये किया जाता था ।
और जोधपुर दरबार के सामने
सर्वप्रथम एक ढोली द्वारा इस शब्द
का प्रयोग किया गया था जिसके
बाद राजपुत सरदारो ने भी धिरे
धिरे ईसे अपनाना शुरु कर दिया और
दरबार को खम्माघणी से अभिवादन
करने लगे।
(अगर हम इस शब्द को परिभाषित
करे
तो इसकी निम्न परिभाषा बनती है
। "खम्माघणी हुकुम अर्थात हुकुम में
आपके सामने बोल रहा हुं इसके लिये
क्षमा चाहता हुं"।)
इस प्रकार जो सिरदार अपने
कुलदेवता या कुलदेवी का नाम लेकर
एक दुसरे से अभिवादन करते थे उन्होने
खम्माघणी मतलब अकारण ही एक
दुसरे से क्षमा मांगना शुरु कर
दिया ,जोकि क्षात्र धर्म के
भी खिलाफ है। पिछलै 3-4 दशको में
तो इस शब्द ने हमारी अज्ञानता के
कारण ईतनी तरक्की की है की हर
घर में ईसका प्रयोग धङल्ले से होने
लगा है जो कि चिन्ता का विषय है
क्योंकी जितना ज्यादा प्रयोग
ईस शब्द का होता है , उतने ही हमारे
कुलदेवता हमसे दुर होते जाते हैं ।
अतः मेरा आप सभी हुकम से निवेदन है
कि आपसी सम्बोन्धन में
खम्माघणी शब्द के बजाए अपने
कुलदेवता या कुलदेवी के नाम से करें
ईससे देवता का स्मरण भी होता है
और मन को भी शान्ति मिलती है ।
ईसे ज्यादा से ज्यादा शेयर करे और
अपने घर के सदस्यो और
जो भी बन्ना या बाईसा हुकम
फेसबुक पर नहीं है लेकिन आपसे
निजी जीवन में जुङे हैं उन्हे भी बताय.


भारत विषयक महत्वपूर्ण तथ्य

1. भारत ने अपने आखिरी 100000 वर्षों के इतिहास में किसी भी देश पर हमला नहीं किया है।
2. जब कई संस्कृतियों में 5000 साल पहले घुमंतू वनवासी थे, तब भारतीयों ने सिंधु घाटी (सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता) में हड़प्पा संस्कृति की स्थापना की।
3. भारत का अंग्रेजी में नाम ‘इंडिया’ इं‍डस नदी से बना है, जिसके आस पास की घाटी में आरंभिक सभ्‍यताएं निवास करती थी। आर्य पूजकों में इस इंडस नदी को सिंधु कहा।
4. ईरान से आए आक्रमणकारियों ने सिंधु को हिंदु की तरह प्रयोग किया। ‘हिंदुस्तान’ नाम सिंधु और हिंदु का संयोजन है, जो कि हिंदुओं की भूमि के संदर्भ में प्रयुक्त होता है।
5. शतरंज की खोज भारत में की गई थी।
6. बीज गणित, त्रिकोण मिति और कलन का अध्‍ययन भारत में ही आरंभ हुआ था।
7. ‘स्‍थान मूल्‍य प्रणाली’ और 'दशमलव प्रणाली' का विकास भारत में 100 बी सी में हुआ था।
8. विश्‍व का प्रथम ग्रेनाइट मंदिर तमिलनाडु के तंजौर में बृहदेश्‍वर मंदिर है। इस मंदिर के शिखर ग्रेनाइट के 80 टन के टुकड़ों से बने हैं। यह भव्‍य मंदिर राजाराज चोल के राज्‍य के दौरान केवल 5 वर्ष की अवधि में (1004 ए डी और 1009 ए डी के दौरान) निर्मित किया गया था।
9. भारत विश्‍व का सबसे बड़ा लोकतंत्र और विश्‍व का सातवां सबसे बड़ा देश तथा प्राचीन सभ्‍यताओं में से एक है।
10. सांप सीढ़ी का खेल तेरहवीं शताब्‍दी में कवि संत ज्ञान देव द्वारा तैयार किया गया था इसे मूल रूप से मोक्षपट कहते थे। इस खेल में सीढियां वरदानों का प्रतिनिधित्‍व करती थीं जबकि सांप अवगुणों को दर्शाते थे। इस खेल को कौडियों तथा पांसे के साथ खेला जाता था। आगे चल कर इस खेल में कई बदलाव किए गए, परन्‍तु इसका अर्थ वहीं रहा अर्थात अच्‍छे काम लोगों को स्‍वर्ग की ओर ले जाते हैं जबकि बुरे काम दोबारा जन्‍म के चक्र में डाल देते हैं।
11. दुनिया का सबसे ऊंचा क्रिकेट का मैदान हिमाचल प्रदेश के चायल नामक स्‍थान पर है। इसे समुद्री सतह से 2444 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर भूमि को समतल बना कर 1893 में तैयार किया गया था।
12. भारत में विश्‍व भर से सबसे अधिक संख्‍या में डाक खाने स्थित हैं।
13. भारतीय रेल देश का सबसे बड़ा नियोक्ता है। यह दस लाख से अधिक लोगों को रोजगार प्रदान करता है।
14. विश्‍व का सबसे प्रथम विश्‍वविद्यालय 700 बी सी में तक्षशिला में स्‍थापित किया गया था। इसमें 60 से अधिक विषयों में 10,500 से अधिक छात्र दुनियाभर से आकर अध्‍ययन करते थे। नालंदा विश्‍वविद्यालय चौथी शताब्‍दी में स्‍थापित किया गया था जो शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में प्राचीन भारत की महानतम उपलब्धियों में से एक है।
15. आयुर्वेद मानव जाति के लिए ज्ञात सबसे आरंभिक चिकित्‍सा शाखा है। शाखा विज्ञान के जनक माने जाने वाले चरक में 2500 वर्ष पहले आयुर्वेद का समेकन किया था।
16. भारत 17वीं शताब्‍दी के आरंभ तक ब्रिटिश राज्‍य आने से पहले सबसे सम्‍पन्‍न देश था। क्रिस्‍टोफर कोलम्‍बस भारत की सम्‍पन्‍नता से आकर्षित हो कर भारत आने का समुद्री मार्ग खोजने चला और उसने गलती से अमेरिका को खोज लिया।
17. नौवहन की कला और नौवहन का जन्‍म 6000      वर्ष पहले सिंध नदी में हुआ था। दुनिया का सबसे पहला नौवहन संस्‍कृ‍त शब्‍द नव गति से उत्‍पन्‍न हुआ है। शब्‍द नौ सेना भी संस्‍कृत शब्‍द नोउ से हुआ।
18. भास्‍कराचार्य ने खगोल शास्‍त्र के कई सौ साल पहले पृथ्‍वी द्वारा सूर्य के चारों ओर चक्‍कर लगाने में लगने वाले सही समय की गणना की थी। उनकी गणना के अनुसार सूर्य की परिक्रमा      में पृथ्‍वी को 365.258756484 दिन का समय लगता है।
19. भारतीय गणितज्ञ बुधायन द्वारा 'पाई' का मूल्‍य ज्ञात किया गया था और उन्‍होंने जिस संकल्‍पना को समझाया उसे पाइथागोरस का प्रमेय करते हैं। उन्‍होंने इसकी खोज छठवीं शताब्‍दी में की, जो यूरोपीय गणितज्ञों से काफी पहले की गई थी।
20. बीज गणित, त्रिकोण मिति और कलन का उद्भव भी भारत में हुआ था। चतुष्‍पद समीकरण का उपयोग 11वीं शताब्‍दी में श्री धराचार्य द्वारा किया गया था। ग्रीक तथा रोमनों द्वारा उपयोग की गई की सबसे बड़ी संख्‍या 106 थी जबकि हिन्‍दुओं ने 10*53 जितने बड़े अंकों का उपयोग (अर्थात 10 की घात 53), के साथ विशिष्‍ट नाम 5000 बीसी के दौरान किया। आज भी उपयोग की जाने वाली सबसे बड़ी संख्‍या टेरा: 10*12 (10 की घात12) है।
21. वर्ष 1896 तक भारत विश्‍व में हीरे का एक मात्र स्रोत था। 
    
    
22. बेलीपुल विश्‍व‍ में सबसे ऊंचा पुल है। यह हिमाचल पर्वत में द्रास और सुरु नदियों के बीच लद्दाख घाटी में स्थित है। इसका निर्माण अगस्‍त 1982 में भारतीय सेना द्वारा किया गया था।
23. सुश्रुत को शल्‍य चिकित्‍सा का जनक माना जाता है। लगभग 2600 वर्ष पहले सुश्रुत और उनके सहयोगियों ने मोतियाबिंद, कृत्रिम अंगों को लगना, शल्‍य क्रिया द्वारा प्रसव, अस्थिभंग जोड़ना, मूत्राशय की पथरी, प्‍लास्टिक सर्जरी और मस्तिष्‍क की शल्‍य क्रियाएं आदि की।
24. निश्‍चेतक का उपयोग भारतीय प्राचीन चिकित्‍सा विज्ञान में भली भांति ज्ञात था। शारीरिकी, भ्रूण विज्ञान, पाचन, चयापचय, शरीर क्रिया विज्ञान, इटियोलॉजी, आनुवांशिकी और प्रतिरक्षा विज्ञान आदि विषय भी प्राचीन भारतीय ग्रंथों में पाए जाते हैं।

33. तिरुपति शहर में बना विष्‍णु मंदिर 10वीं शताब्‍दी के दौरान बनाया गया था, यह विश्‍व का सबसे बड़ा धार्मिक गंतव्‍य है। रोम या मक्‍का धार्मिक स्‍थलों से भी बड़े इस स्‍थान पर प्रतिदिन औसतन 30 हजार श्रद्धालु आते हैं और लगभग 6 मिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर प्रति दिन चढ़ावा आता है।
34. सिक्‍ख धर्म का उद्भव पंजाब के पवित्र शहर अमृतसर में हुआ था। यहां प्रसिद्ध स्‍वर्ण मंदिर की स्‍थापना 1577 में गई थी।
35. वाराणसी, जिसे बनारस के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, एक प्राचीन शहर है जब भगवान बुद्ध ने 500 बी सी में यहां आगमन किया और यह आज विश्‍व का सबसे पुराना और निरंतर आगे बढ़ने वाला शहर है।
36. भारत द्वारा श्रीलंका, तिब्‍बत, भूटान, अफगानिस्‍तान और बांग्‍लादेश के 3,00,000 से अधिक शरणार्थियों को सुरक्षा दी जाती है, जो धार्मिक और राजनैतिक अभियोजन के फलस्‍वरूप वहां से निकल गए हैं।
37. माननीय दलाई लामा तिब्‍बती बौद्ध धर्म के निर्वासित धार्मिक नेता है, जो उत्तरी भारत के धर्मशाला में अपने निर्वासन में रह रहे हैं।
38. युद्ध कलाओं का विकास सबसे पहले भारत में किया गया और ये बौद्ध धर्म प्रचारकों द्वारा पूरे एशिया में फैलाई गई।
39. योग कला का उद्भव भारत में हुआ है और यह 5,000 वर्ष से अधिक समय से मौजूद है।
